The Authority’s “Limited Investor Bond” program for nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations in Oregon has been developed for the purpose of making low cost tax-exempt financing available for nonrated nonprofit organizations to obtain financing from high net worth individuals and institutional investors. The Limited Investor Bond program is designed for larger and more complex bond transactions.
Two features of this program make it appropriate for use by a nonprofit borrower who can’t obtain investment grade bond rating:
1. The bonds are privately offered to a limited group of institutional investors.
2. The program utilizes the ability of the Authority as a conduit issuer, to issue federally tax-exempt bonds on behalf of the Applicant. Thereby reducing overall interest cost associated with a specific financing.
The Limited Investor Bond process although complex, involves a number of qualified parties as well as dedicated Authority staff to facilitate the process through closing. For more information on this product please contact the Authority.
